# Set up an alert

Write a custom monitoring alert in Curade Mini on a page you watch, so you hear about a crossed line as a push even with the app closed.

A custom alert watches the items you choose for the conditions you set, and notifies you when they hold for as long as you say. Ready made alerts need no writing: switch one on under **Ready made** instead.

## Before you begin

- Monitoring alerts are on for the environment. The monitoring button, a radar, shows at the top of its monitoring pages when they are.
- Your role opens the page you want to watch, and you have opened that page once, so its items are there to choose from.

## Steps

1. Open the page to watch, such as **Services**.
2. Tap the monitoring button, the radar at the top of the screen.
3. On the **Custom** tab, tap **New alert**.
4. Under **Items**, pick what the alert watches: every item, a management zone, a tag, or items you choose.
5. Under **Conditions**, pick a measure, a direction and a number.
6. Set **For how long** the line has to stay crossed.
7. Read the sentence under **Your alert**, then tap **Save Alert**.

## Result

The alert sits on the page's **Custom** tab, switched on. If the page was running ready made alerts, the app first asks how to save it, since a page runs one kind at a time. The first check after saving takes a baseline, and the alert notifies you from the next check on.
