# Schedule a report

Set up a report in Curade's report engine, choose what it covers and how often it runs, and have it emailed to the right people as a PDF.

A report is built from the tenant you picked and emailed as a PDF, once or on a schedule. It always covers the whole tenant, whatever sources you picked.

## Before you begin

- Your tenant role lets you create reports ([Roles and permissions](https://curade.ai/en/curade/docs/administration/roles-and-permissions/)).
- Optional: the email groups and maintenance windows the report uses exist under **Config** ([Environment configuration](https://curade.ai/en/curade/docs/administration/environment-configuration/)).

## Steps

1. Open **Analytics**, then **Report Engine**.
2. Under General, type the report's title and pick its type, such as **Overview Report**, then go on to the next step.
3. Under Schedule, pick how often it runs and set its **Email Schedule**, or switch on **Instant Report** and pick the stretch of time it covers.
4. Under Data Configuration, pick the hosts or transactions and the columns, and choose whether to **Include Recommendations**.
5. Optional: under Maintenance Window, pick the windows to leave out of the figures.
6. Under Notifications, pick email groups or type the addresses the report goes to.
7. Check the PDF in the preview and select **Generate Report**.

## Result

The **Scheduled Report Generator** opens, with the report under **Running**. A scheduled report builds and emails itself at every time you set. An instant report is built and emailed once, straight away, and then moves to **Paused**.
