The terms below appear across Curade Mini and these docs. Each one means the same thing everywhere it appears.
Monitoring
| Term | What it means |
|---|---|
| Environment | One of your organisation's monitored IT environments, as Core Consulting connects it. Each one keeps its own dashboard, widgets, chats and alerts. |
| Host | A monitored machine, such as a server or a virtual machine, that runs services and processes. |
| Tag | A label on monitored items, set up in your organisation's monitoring platform. Picking one narrows a page to the items carrying it. |
| Time window | The stretch of time a page covers, picked at the top right of the screen. Every number and list on the page is worked out over it. |
| Health score | A score from 0 to 100 for the whole environment, worked out from the problems open right now (Health score). |
| Problem | Something monitoring detected as wrong, such as a slow service or a host out of memory. A problem is open or resolved, and has a severity. |
| Root cause | What monitoring itself named as the cause of a problem. The app never calls anything else the cause. |
| Application | A monitored application that real users use, such as a website or a mobile app. |
| Apdex | A user satisfaction score from 0 to 1. The closer to 1, the more users get responses fast enough to be happy with them. |
| Service | A monitored service behind the applications, such as a web service or a database. |
| Management zone | A part of the environment set up in your organisation's monitoring platform. Picking one narrows a page to it. |
The modules
| Term | What it means |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | A page of widgets for an environment, under its health score. You own your dashboard, and nobody else sees it. |
| Widget | A tile on a dashboard showing one metric, such as unhealthy hosts or average response time. |
| CLEO | Curade Mini's built in assistant, which answers questions about what is on screen and how the app works. |
| Console | Where admins manage the accounts, environments and notifications they look after. |
| Monitoring alert | A rule you set on a page, such as "a host stays above 80% CPU for 10 minutes", that notifies you when it is met. |
| Cluemetry | The app's reasoning engine. It explains why a reading looks the way it does, from what monitoring recorded. |
| Relationship map | A map of what an item connects to: the services an application calls, the hosts a service runs on, and so on. |
People
| Term | What it means |
|---|---|
| Role | What your account can open and do: Engineer or Admin. |
